I Used to Think 'Rush Order' Meant Chaos. Now? It's the Most Efficient Lane in Printing.
Let me just say it: I disagree with the popular belief that rush orders are a recipe for disaster.
In my eight years at a mid-sized commercial print shop, the biggest mistakes—the ones that cost us clients—didn't happen on the 24-hour turnaround jobs. They happened on the standard 10-day orders. The jobs where everyone had too much time to overthink, change specs, and let the file sit in someone's inbox for a week.
So when people ask, "Aren't rush orders just chaotic?" I tell them: Not from where I'm standing. Not if you know the real cost of waiting.
